how to reach us

Pearl Beach Resort is located on Gili Asahan – the first of the beautiful islands in the enchanting bay of Sekotong, South West Lombok – and easy to reach.
To arrive on Lombok you can either use a direct international flight (e.g. with Silk Air from Singapore) or, coming from another Indonesian destination, book a national flight. As booking of national flights can be difficult in advance we are happy to assist you with organizing them.

A third option, arriving from Bali, is taking the ferry (arrival on Lombok in Lembar) or one of the many speedboats (arrival on Lombok in Teluk Nare/Kodek). On Lombok you can charter one of the plentiful local hired vehicles and head south to Labuan Poh.

Of course we are happy to also organise the car transport for you – just let us know and our trustworthy and economic driving service will await you at the airport, harbour or your hotel. The journey takes around two hours from the airport or one hour from the ferry port of Lembar. The drive takes you through interesting scenery, along paddy fields and coastal wetlands.

If you advise us when you will arrive at Labuan Poh our hotel boat will meet you at the beach opposite Gili Asahan and ferry you across the calm waters to Pearl Beach Resort in 15 minutes.

currency & payment

The national currency is Indonesian rupiah. Nevertheless also euro and US dollar are accepted at our resort (dollar bills only if in good conditions and not older than 2006). As to the remote nature of our area no bancomat or cash machine is close to the resort. Payments can be done either cash or by credit card (3% surcharge). Please note that due to bad connection we cannot guarantee that the credit card payment works all the time. Alternatively we can arrange paypal payments on site (3% surcharge). Down payments prior to your stay may be required.

Indonesia is a tropical country and enjoys a year-round climate ranging from 27°C (80°F) to 30°C (86°F). The rainy season runs from December through March, the dry season from April through November. As nights can be cooler in the dry season, you may need a light sweater or scarf in the evenings. During the monsoon months rain is less common at the Secret Gilis than on the main land. Generally a short but strong rain shower can be expected in the evenings. However rainy days might be possible, but then the islands and the region will be covered with a beautiful bright green.

immigration requirements

Visitors from certain countries require a tourist visa in advance, some can obtain it on arrival at any international airport in Indonesia and some visitors do not require a visa at all. The visa-on-arrival fee for citizens of eligible countries is US$ 25 for a 30-day visa which is extendable for another 30 days. Passports must be valid for at least six months after the arrival date and must have at least four full blank pages. Please check with an Indonesian embassy in your country to meet the requirements.

There is a chance of contracting mosquito-borne diseases throughout Indonesia. Generally the sea breeze around the Secret Gilis is keeping away any such connected illnesses, however reasonable precautions, including the use of mosquito repellent early in the morning and late in the day, should be taken. You may also consult your doctor in advance of your journey.

The electric power supply at the resort is 220 volts and is provided by our resort’s generator. Plugs for American visitors might be necessary. Please note that electricity is only available in the evening and during the night and depending on our capacity.
